Welcome

In recent weeks, I've been giving a lot of thought to my online presence, of where and how I'm involved. Most of the time, I'm a textbook lurker; I consume without contributing much back. It's going to take a constant, conscious effort to break free of this behavior, but I'm going to try—starting, for now, with this site.

I expect that most of my writing here will be about web development and technology. I spend the majority of my waking hours looking at one computer display or another, so it's only fitting that I talk about it here. I have enough to say about so many aspects of technology that I don't expect that well to run dry any time soon.

I may delve into aspects of my personal life from time to time, but I'm generally a very private person so I don't plan to share many intimate details about myself for all to see. I might sometimes also talk about politics and religion, but given that most people have such strong feelings on both of these topics it may be more trouble than it's worth. I prefer to participate in calm, intelligent discussions rather than two-sided rants, and calm, intelligent discussions about politics and religion are scarce indeed.

For a bit of background on me, please read the About Me page. If you're curious about the site itself on a technical level, you may be interested in the Colophon.
